In 1981, the Gazelles were reinforced by three Sikorsky S-76 utility helicopters. Wearing similar livery and service titles, these were registered as 9Y-TGW, 9Y-TGX, and 9Y-TJW. All the Gazelles and S-76s were still operational as of July 1990, and deployed in support of the TTDF, but none was ever armed.
