In an attempt to counter the rearming of the Peruvian aviation, Ecuador ordered nine IMAM Ro.37Bis observation and light attack aircraft in February 1937. Poor logistics, financial support and a series of unfortunate accidents meant that by the time of the conflict, only five remained on the strength, with none operational. (Artwork by Luca Canossa)
