The final role in which the Jonga was deployed by the Indian Army was that of a gun carrier: as such, the vehicle was armed with a single M40 106mm recoilless gun, installed as shown here. The 2nd Para deployed a battery of four gun-carrying Jongas during Operation Cactus. As far as is known, these received a relatively simple camouflage pattern, consisting of wide stripes of sand applied on top of the olive green overall livery.(Artwork by David Bocquelet)
