A reconstruction of the truck-towed TEL for the Agni-III ballistic missiles. The Agni-III is 17 metres long with a diameter of 2 meters, weighing 48 tonnes, and can reach targets up to 5,000km away from the launching point. The latest Agni-IV and Agni-V are strategic nuclear weapons with a range of up to 12,000km. Due to the sheer size and weight of the weapon, TELs of this kind are limited to deployment along India’s road network, while the Agni-II is launched from a specially modified railway car.
