India has developed custom-made Transporter-Erector-Launchers (TELs) for all the ballistic and cruise missiles in its service, enabling these to be quickly transported and fired from almost anywhere. This illustration shows a TEL based on the chassis of a commercial truck made by Tata Motors Ltd of Mumbai, used for deployment of the Prithvi I/II/III family of missiles, the Prithvi Air Defence missile and – possibly – for test-launches of the PDV.
