The Bulgarian-made Laz-7 was used as a light night bomber and trainer. A total of 163, including the prototypes, were produced at the DFS Lovech (renamed as the Zavod-14) factory, with the first production-standard exampled rolled out in 1949. The type entered regular VVS service in 1950 with the People’s Air Force School in Dolna Mitropolya, where the Laz-7 was used in the initial and basic training role until 1954. The type was mainly used to equip the two light night bomber divisions with a total of six regiments. In addition, it was used for liaison and training in the attack and bomber regiments.
