The Canon de 155mm Mle F3 Automoteur was developed in the early 1950s in France. Mounted on the cassis of the AMX-13 light tank, it is the
smallest and lightest self-propelled gun carriage ever manufactured. Its compact size and low cost resulted in considerable success on the export market. Morocco acquired 98 Mk F3s between 1978 and 1997, and around 90 of these remain in service with three artillery regiments usually deployed in Western Sahara. (Artwork by David Bocquelet)
