Gannet AS.1 XG785 made its first flight on July 15, 1957. It was delivered to the RAN in the UK 28 November that year and arrived in Australia in September 1958 as part of an attrition batch. Shore-based at Nowra, New South Wales or embarked aboard HMAS Melbourne, it wore the codes 833/M, 813/M and 813/NW at different times. The green and yellow on the spinner marks it as a No. 816 NAS aircraft. It was sold for scrap in March 1967 and subsequently broken up.
