Depicted carrying 50kg PuW bombs, Gotha G.IV 410/16 was an example from the first series batch (401-412) ordered in August 1916 and delivered to Kampfgeschwader der Obersten Heeresleitung Nr. 3 (Kaghol 3), assigned to the Staffelführer of Kasta 16. It did not see combat, crashing on attraining flight on 23 April 1917, amonth before the campaign against England began. The crew, consisting of observer Obltn. Hans-Joachim von Seydlitz-Kurzbach, pilot. OfStv. Borsch and gunner Vfw. Gitzen survived.
