The CAP ordered four Grumman G-21 Goose amphibious aircraft in 1938 to serve as liaison and transport aircraft in the vast Amazon territories. These sturdy and reliable aircraft remained in Peruvian military aviation service until the late 1940s. All were painted in silver dope overall, but had large parts of the forward and bottom fuselage (as well as engine nacelles) painted in black, a cheat-line painted in blue, and wore the usual national colours applied on the rudder.
