The SEPECAT Jaguar was an Anglo-French project originally intended to deliver an advanced trainer aircraft but developed into a light strike platform, 165 of which were ordered to the Royal Air Force. The example shown here is a GR.1 of No. 2 Squadron based at Larrbruch in 1987. The Jaguar could carry a wide range of stores including Matra pods for 68mm rockets, BL755 cluster bombs, conventional free fall iron bombs or the WE.177 variable yield nuclear bomb. This example is shown carrying a large reconnaissance pod – manufactured by EMI – on the centreline and drop tanks underwing. (Artwork by Tom Cooper)
