Type 89 Yi-Go medium tank, 7th Ind. Company, Leyte, October 1944. The 7th Ind. Tank Company on Leyte in 1944 appears to have retained the pre-1942 color scheme, suggesting that these tanks were the same ones used in the 1941–42 campaign in the Philippines. This shows a typical camouflage scheme in the late 1930s consisting of medium brown (Cha-iro), mahogany brown (Tochi-iro), and dark green (Midori-iro) with the yellow disruptive stripe. Some equipment provided to the manufacturer by government arsenals such as the 57mm gun and tools were delivered in khaki primer.
