One Armstrong Whitworth F.K.8 was in service in the Government Air Arm. It had a fixed .303 Vickers machine gun for the pilot and a movable Lewis one for the gunner, and could carry 100 kilos of bombs in racks under the lower wing. Paraguayan roundels were applied on top surfaces of the upper, and bottom surfaces of the lower wing, and national colours on the rudder. It was shot down by ground fire on 8 July 1922, near the town of Pirayú. (Artwork by J.P. Vieira)
