The Agusta Bell 212 was a more powerful version of the Bell 205, retaining a two-blade main rotor, but with a stretched fuselage and powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T-3 Twin-Pac engine consisting of two coupled PT6 power turbines. Twenty-four were delivered to the 1st (Pratica di Mare), 2nd (Milano Malpensa), 3rd (Bologna), 4th (Palermo), 6th (Naples/Capodichino), and 11th (Pescara) Flights (Reparto Volo) of the Polizia di Stato, starting in 1976. Many were considerably modified in recent times, primarily through the addition of a FLIR-turret under the nose. (Artwork by Luca Canossa)
