As the crisis in the Indochina continued to grow, in January 1947 the Armée de l’Air re-deployed the GC I/3 to Tan Son Nhut AB. The unit was equipped with de Havilland Mosquito VI and XVI fighter-bombers and starting in March 1947, deployed in support of operations to secure the areas west of Saigon. One disadvantage of the aircraft was that its wooden frame was ill-adapted to the humid conditions present in Indochina. (Artwork by Jean-Marie Guillou)
