The 14 Mi-8TBRs delivered to Nicaragua between 1981 and 1984 were colloquially known as Mi-8Ts. It seems that each wore an entirely different camouflage pattern: indeed, some wore civilian markings of the Soviet airline Aeroflot on their arrival. This example was camouflaged in beige (BS381C/388) and blue-green on top surfaces and sides, and light admiralty grey (BS381C/697) on undersurfaces. Their serials were always applied in black below the cockpit, and repeated at the bottom of the fin, underneath the fin flash. Armament consisted of UB-16-57 rocket pods and a 12.7mm machine gun installed in the nose. (Artwork by Tom Cooper)
