Another new appearance in the Iraqi Army of the late 1980s were Chinese-made YW-531 APCs. Apparently operated by mechanised brigades of infantry divisions only, all seem to have been painted in dark sand colour overall, and most received their parent-unit’s tactical insignia applied on the forward hull.
