The first four Mi-28Ns were confirmed as being deployed to Syria in March 2016, and it is certain that they saw lots of action against Daesh in eastern Syria. All wore the camouflage pattern shown here, consisting of dark sand and olive-green colours on top surfaces and sides, and light admiralty grey (BS381C/698) on undersurfaces. All four have received big Borts, in blue, outlined in white, underneath the pilot’s (rear) cockpit – indicating their assignement to a test unit – while their registration-numbers were deleted, as shown here. In addition to the single-barrel 30mm 2A42-2 cannon, with 250 rounds, installed under the nose, they were usually armed with up to eight 9M120 Ataka-VN anti-tank missiles and B-8V-20A rocket packs.
