The second most-important APC of the FAPLA was the old BTR-152. Still available in significant numbers, a battalion of up to 30 was assigned to every motorised infantry brigade. Most belonged to the variant with the open-topped fighting compartment. While all were left either in their dark green or dark olive green overall livery, and wore next to no insignia, there were significant differences in the armament they mounted. The most widespread was the installation of one or two SGMB 7.62mm light machine guns, as shown on the main artwork. Nevertheless, the 12.7mm DShK heavy machine gun was sometimes installed instead, as shown inset. (Artwork by David Bocquelet)
